THE COUNTY OF KERN IS EXTENDING AN INVITATION TO BID FOR TRUCK/TRAILER HAULING SERVICES OF ROAD MATERIALS FROM ROAD MATERIAL SUPPLIERS AND ROAD YARDS THROUGHTOUT KERN COUNTY AND DELIVER THE MATERIALS TO JOBSITES WITHIN KERN COUNTY.
The awarded contractual Price Agreement, shall be for a Vendor to provide services that consist of going to the Road Material site, with the proper type of trailer, wait for it to be loaded and transport the material to a designated project site within Kern County and empty the load as directed.
This will be for an initial one year term, with the possibility of extensions. Multiple awards may be made from this Quotation Request. Completion of the Quotation Request documents, including the Vendor Information portion, is a requirement and must be returned with your response. BID RESPONSE INSTRUCTIONS: It is the sole responsibility of the Vendor to return responses by the time and date stated.

Questions submitted by July 16, 2026, at 4:00 P.M. PST will be answered. Sincere efforts will be made to answer questions asked after that, but will not be guaranteed.
ALL LATE BIDS WILL BE REJECTED WITHOUT EXCEPTION !! Quotation Responses may be submitted online through the bid posted on Public Purchase.com, or Sealed Bids delivered to: Kern County Purchasing Attn. Cynthia Nicholson 1115 Truxtun Avenue Bakersfield, CA 93301 before 11:00:00 a.m., PST, on Thursday, July 23, 2026. The Quotation Request # PA 1188, "Road Material Hauling 2026", must appear on the outside of the envelope.
AWARD INFORMATION: The award will be based on the ability to meet the County requirements, terms, price and the ability to provide the requested amount of equipment. Multiple awards are highly possible from this Quotation Request. Vendors are encouraged to submit a response, if they meet the qualifications, except for the desired number of Operated Trucks and Trailers, as we expect to make multiple awards.
We are seeking professional, fully licensed, fully insured Vendors, that meet all, Federal, State and Local Requirements and can provide consistent, reliable professional service, with the equipment they have.
The awarded Vendor shall upon request by the Kern County Roads/Public Works Department, dispatch Drivers with Belly or End Dump Truck/Trailers to a designated location, to pick up Road Materials, including, but not limited to: sand, gravel, rock, asphalt from Road Material Suppliers, or County Road Yard stock piles, within Kern County.
Materials will be loaded by the Road Material Supplier, or County Road Yard Staff. The awarded Vendor shall transport and deliver these materials to County-directed project sites and unload them as instructed. Typically, these are for Road Construction projects, that require multiple, continuous loads, for timely project completion. To meet operational needs, the Vendor must have Belly/Bottom Dump and End Dump Trailers.
SuperTag and SuperDump are generall considered equivalent to End Dumps, but there might be size restrictions depending on the project. Vendors with at least 4 Belly/Bottom Dumps and 4 End Dump Trailers are preferred; however, Vendors with fewer, are still encouraged to respond! PLEASE SEE THE ATTACHED QUOTATION REQUEST FOR THE COMPLETE SCOPE OF WORK AND QUOTATION REQUEST DETAILS. THE COMPLETED QUOTATION REQUEST MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH YOUR RESPONSE !!
