The proposed fire station will replace the existing Fire Station 60-Lower Lake located at that site, a three bay, metal building built in the late 1970's. The existing metal building and adjacent accessory brick building will be razed for a new, approximately 7500 SF, full-time Fire/EMS station.
The new Lower Lake Station 60 is proposed to have 5 bays, sleeping quarters for up to 8, 3.5 bathrooms, a full kitchen, utility room with washer/dryer, and multiple office/meeting rooms. Greenwood County is seeking a station similar in size, function and layout as Fire Station 45 located at 128 Greenwood Avenue South, Ware Shoals, SC. Plans attached.
