RFQ #02-27-04 - THT Phase#2, NHDOT#45251 Design Project

The City of Keene is seeking statements of qualifications from qualified NHDOT pre-approved engineering consultants to perform the scope of engineering study, preliminary engineering, preliminary and final design, permitting, ROW acquisition(s) (easements) and bid assistance phase services associated with the City’s Capital Improvements Plan and NHDOT TAP plan Transportation Heritage Trail – Phase 2 Project, NHDOT#4521.

The project includes but is not expressly limited to the design of bicycle and pedestrian amenities for the following : • Upgrade of approximately 1,500 ft. of the existing Cheshire Railroad corridor from Rt. 101 to Joslin Station Road, including drainage, brush clearing, grading and paved surface. • Relocation of the existing Robert J.

Prowse Memorial Bridge over NH Route 101 including removal of existing stone abutment, new cast in place abutments, coffered wing walls, setting existing bridge components, new concrete deck, site grading and new railings. • Rehabilitate the existing stone arch bridge with ornamental railings, timber post fence along the high ridge, and upgraded walking surface. • Relocation of the existing Baily Bridge over Swanzey Factory Road including gravel parking area, paved ramp to trail, new cast in place abutments and wing walls, setting existing bridge components, new concrete deck, and site grading • Creation of a trailhead at Joslin Station Road with an at grade crossing including drainage, grading and brush clearing/grubbing and paved surfacing This project is being partially funded through the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) with Federal funds from both the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) and Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS).

As such, the work will be completed in accordance with the requirements of NHDOT’s Local Public Agency Manual for the Development of Projects (LPA Manual).
